So I'm looking at a discussion online. A person is asking why we can feel worse when our pets die than when people die. Of course, several people came out of nowhere and called him nuts, basically. Someone defended the original speaker, and the rest went like this:

right yeah
definitely a fakepost, putting human life above a pet's life
i mean how can someone hold such insane views??

Yeah, because the majority of humanity is worthy of the gift of life.

most of us manage to get along without eating our own young or licking our own balls
i think that might put us a few pegs above fluffy

And here, the immediate thought that jumps into my head is:

"If men could lick their own balls, we wouldn't have much of a society left."
