Gay Cowboys, Christopher Lambert...That's All You Need
Spent most of this past weekend watching movies. Well, spent most of this past Saturday watching movies. Started up with Brokeback Mountain, aka The Gay Cowboy movie. The ultimate conclusion I drew from that movie was that it was a movie. Not a gay cowboy movie, but a movie.
You see, I have a bit of a problem with people who have some sort of serious problem with gay people. I mean, if they don't like gays, why don't they just be content with not being gay? Is it really some big crisis? Either way, this movie was a move in the right direction, as opposed to, say, Will and Grace, which is now done (thank the gods). The thing about Brokeback Mountain is that it portrays a love story and that's it. It just so happens that both of the characters involved are guys. It could just as easily be a guy and a girl. It helps sometimes to remember that different people are in fact human.
Second up was Lost In Translation. It's difficult to really use words to describe this movie, so I won't try. Suffice to say I liked it.
Third was The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise. I like samurai and I like Tom Cruise. Good.
Last (and definitively least) on this list is Beowulf with Christopher Lambert. This movie has Christopher Lambert (you may remember him from Mortal Kombat), Rhona Mitra (known for her boobs), and Layla Roberts (believe it or not, also known for her boobs). Now, the poem Beowulf is over 1,000 years old if my sources are accurate. The trailer for this movie starts, "In the future"...oh yes. Depending on your perspective, this is either the worst or the most awesomest movie ever.
Also, ate too much food at Applebee's yesterday. Good times.
